American Holistic Medical Association
The AHMA was founded in 1978 to unite licensed physicians who practice holistic medicine. The mission of the AHMA is to support practitioners in their evolving personal and professional development as healers and to educate physicians about holistic medicine. The Association campaigns for the transformation of the health care system toward a more holistic model and for a system of beneficial coalitions with professionals in related fields for mutual learning. In addition, they strive to directly empower patients to become involved in their own healing, and in changing the health care system.
