The Institute For Optimum Nutrition (ION) is an independent, not for profit educational charity which aims to provide education and information on nutrition to both the public and health professionals, and to preserve and protect the health of the general public by giving advice, assistance and where necessary treatment through nutritional therapy.
The Institute provides information in its own publications and through media contributions; by conducting various community 'outreach' programmes and events; and by providing educational courses currently ranging from the Home Study course to the Diploma and Foundation Science Degree in Nutritional Therapy. This can then be upgraded to a full Nutritional Science BSc (Hons) via one year's extra study.
