CICRA provides support for sufferers and their families and they raise funds to support approved medical research aimed at finding more effective treatments and an eventual cure.
Over its 25 years, part of the research programme has been to sponsor Research Training Fellowships. Some of the leading Paediatric Gastroenterologists in this country have come through this scheme and are now treating children in various parts of the country. They continue this funding and hope to ensure that one day all children with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis (collectively called IBD) will be able to see a specialist.
