The Gut Trust runs a free telephone helpline, staffed by specialist nurses, to give advice and support. This helpline is available to anybody, whoever they are. Their website offers information and advice in a friendly and understandable manner and their office co-ordinates visits to community and medical groups including Asian women's networks, nursing conferences and patient care open days.
Their members receive access to the Self Management Programme, a unique doctor-written, patient focussed tool to help them manage their illness better, and so lead more fulfilled and productive lives. They also receive the journal, Gut Reaction, and have access to befrienders and telephone contacts. For those who can travel, there are self help groups around the country provide support and understanding.
